Westminster Coaches Recognized
Colorado Youth Soccer recognized three of Westminster’s soccer coaches at its annual awards banquet on January 28th. Westminster is proud to announce that the CYS recognized Jeff Vigil and Dave Castro as girls’ and boys’ competitive coaches of the year. Coach Vigil coached his boys’ team to the U17 Boys President Cup. Coach Castro’s team was a State Cup semifinalist and many of his players are now preparing for college careers. The awards were very deserved, not only because of the coaches’ success, but because of their efforts and hard work. Both coaches have amply demonstrated the characteristics of WAFC through their dedication, expertise and energy. Our WAFC community thanks both of these deserving coaches.
In addition, Tom Widera was awarded the State Outstanding Recreational Coach of the year for his work in the City of Westminster recreational youth program. Coach Widera works with boys and girls recreational teams, ably assisting them in developing a knowledge and love for the game, and preparing them for the competitive level of youth soccer.
